An explosion of ink saturates the coastline, from Marseille to Saint-Tropez.

Description

Original India ink drawing on an original nautical chart. (Unique piece).

In this work, the familiar geography of the Mediterranean coast—from Marseille to the Hyères Islands and as far as Saint-Tropez—is abruptly interrupted by a total mass of ink.

Here, the nautical chart no longer serves to guide the navigator; it becomes the stage for a violent and silent visual event. The India ink invades the sounding lines and beacons, transforming the landscape into a territory occupied by darkness. This central form does not destroy: it imposes an opaque, persistent depth where the map once promised legibility.

The work on the antique map introduces a temporal tension: the yellowed paper, steeped in history and navigation, collides with the raw saturation of the black.

Technical note: Signed unique piece, created on an authentic nautical chart. Delivered with its certificate of authenticity.
