In this oil painting on linen, the outdoors invites itself into an abandoned parlor, piercing through walls, curtains, and the gutted ceiling. The outside seems to invade the space like a blast. Intimacy retreats and vanishes, giving way to an "in-between" space, suspended, iridescent with pale blue skies and the yellow ochres of the neighboring building. A poetic and unsettling vision that infuses a gentle melancholy.
