Unique work
Description
On a large sheet of Arches paper, using charcoal, I drew two surrealist figures inspired by Victorian iconography, presided over by a moth—a Death's-head hawkmoth.
The characters seem uneasy, their hands clenched. The bird-man, wearing a moth-eaten top hat, and the eye-woman, dressed in embroideries she likely knitted herself, seem as much to be questioning themselves as posing a riddle to us. The drawing is framed, protected by glass and a spacer specifically designed for charcoal.
