The Worksite Continues
With a hammer and chisel, I’m removing the old row of tiles at the bottom of the façade.
With a first coat of paint, the whole thing is starting to look more human again.
The idea is to move toward something more understated, more discreet.

Inside, it’s still a construction site, but little by little things are finding their place.
The building’s plumber came to repair the cracked column, and the cellar will finally be able to serve its purpose.
It’s time to remove the tiles in the back section.
They don’t put up much of a fight, and reveal walls that are shabby but sound.
François came to give me a hand dismantling the old block.
We took turns breaking it down with a sledgehammer.
We also simplified the electrical system and hauled the debris to the recycling center in his car.
I couldn’t have made progress this fast without him.

After all this work, the studio is starting to breathe again.
There’s still more to do, but it already has nothing to do with what it used to be.

See you soon for the next steps in the renovation!
