La bouteille à l’encre

The expression 'la bouteille à l’encre'—an ink bottle—refers to a muddled situation, a thorny problem that seems impossible to solve. Even through an empty ink bottle, it is difficult to see clearly; yet, sometimes a few traces of ink are all it takes to make things visible, to gain perspective, and to find the beginning of a solution. Whether its origin is mental, inspired by nature, or an echo of an emotion, drawing fills a void. Faced with the absurdity of the world, this space of freedom is essential to my balance. Drawing, beyond the gesture on paper, is also a source of encounters and sharing; it gives a singular flavor to life.
