Nóstos and Camille

In Greek, Nóstos (Νόστος) carries the idea of an impossible return — that of Ulysses after his long journey, toward a home that no longer exists, or has transformed to the point of becoming foreign. It’s the word that would later give rise to nostalgie.
In my painting Nóstos (oil on canvas, 200 x 200 cm, 2025), this spectral building stands at the frontier: one is never quite inside, never quite outside. For me, these abandoned architectures are interior landscapes as much as exterior ones, thresholds where presence and disappearance blur.

A first limited edition joins the store: a portrait of Camille Claudel, fine art print on 310g watercolor paper.
