Studio Notes

Chaos and Renovation

First coat of white on the façade: it’s incredible how it changes everything. Less gloomy, sharper—it's starting to look like a real workspace.
A few more adjustments, and it will be ready to welcome the most curious visitors (or the most lost ones).

The Worksite Continues

Inside, it’s another story: a cheerful mess still reigns. Works must constantly be protected, boxes shifted, detours made between ladders, tools, cables, and planks… But the good news is that the cellar has finally stopped leaking! It can now serve as storage and free up space upstairs. A logistical victory.

Controlled Demolition

Hammer, tiles, opera in the background: never change a winning formula. I’ve started removing the old tiles from the back section. It’s messy, it’s noisy, but it’s moving forward.

Farewell to the Old Block

The old restroom block comes down, and behind it—surprise, a window! It will be rebuilt soon. The toilet will follow the same path as the tiles: straight to the dumpster. Bit by bit, the eyesore disappears, and the light returns.

Calm Settles In

Now that the cellar is starting to serve its purpose, the main room breathes again. The space is cleared, ready to welcome brushes, ink, oil, and all the ideas just waiting to come out. There’s still work to be done, but the studio is taking shape. And I can’t wait to get back to the gesture.

Next week: finishing the façade… and, hopefully, back to drawing.
À très vite !
