    Abbaye Contemporary Art

    4–5 Elements

Group Exhibition at the Abbey of San Remigio, Parodi Ligure, Italy
    From July 19 to 28, 2013

Set within the timeless setting of the former Abbey of San Remigio, twenty contemporary artists were invited to engage in a dialogue with the architecture, the landscape, and the spirit of the place. The exhibition 4–5 Elements, third edition of a curatorial cycle rooted in the Piedmont region, offers a free and sensory interpretation of the fundamental forces: water, air, fire, and earthand that fifth, intangible and mysterious element, which some traditions call ether, void, or sky..

Conceived as a sensory journey, this group exhibition does not seek to illustrate these elements, but rather to evoke their resonance — internal, physical, metaphorical — through works that fully engage with the abbey’s space, its historical echoes, its silence, and its thresholds.

Franck Saïssi She presents recent works, both intimate and enigmatic, continuing her exploration of memory, movement, and the trace left by the body’s passage through a territory.

The exhibition was inaugurated on Friday, July 19, 2013, in the presence of the artists and featuring an exceptional performance by Ben Patterson, a historic figure of Fluxus. The exhibition was open over two weekends, until July 28, in a venue whose spiritual and physical strength extended the evocative power of the artworks.
