Studio Notes

Metamorphosis

After a month of work, the studio has changed its skin.
The façade is here: sober, clear, minimal. A few finishing touches remain, but the essential is done. You can breathe again.

Typography

For the signage, I chose a hand-painted typeface.
Carbon paper, acrylic, fine brush…
…and a good hat.
The result is artisanal, irregular, alive.
Light-years away from a sticker or a stencil.
Up to you to judge!

Intimacy

Translucent films now cover the window. Opaque enough to work in peace, yet letting the light through.
They give the whole place a slightly contemporary feel.
Soon, the cracked glass of the door will be replaced with frosted glass: the final touch for a façade that is both unified and distinctive.

Marble

Beneath the old paint: surprise, a slab of Carrara marble.
Green, gray, white, yellow... And finally: elegant veins, a stone weathered by time.
A bit more elbow grease, and the marble will regain the nobility it had a century ago.
All that will be missing is a glass of Asti and a focaccia with lardo di Colonnata to celebrate.

Paréidolie

The catalogs for the Paréidolie Drawing Fair have arrived.
Just in time to remind me that the renovation can wait.
The fair will take place from August 29 to 31 at the Château de Servières in Marseille.
To be prepared with seriousness — and a touch of adrenaline.

Back to the Line

First drawing in the new studio: a small portrait on a book page.
A month without ink felt long. But this time, it’s back on track.
The remaining work will patiently wait until September.

See you soon, for the next drawings…
