Une inquiétante étrangeté
Le travail de Franck Saïssi s’inscrit dans la grande tradition des peintres et il serait facile, voire réducteur, de l’y associer.
Artiste intranquille, Franck Saïssi aime passionnément la peinture qui l’aide à structurer sa vie, à y mettre de l’ordre, à conjurer les inquiétudes, les doutes qui l’assaillent régulièrement et que l’on retrouve dans les thèmes qu’il explore.
La peinture donne sens à sa vie, c’est un besoin vital qu’il pratique quotidiennement et qui vient combler une sorte de vide intérieur. Un puits sans fond qu’une vie entière n’arrivera certainement jamais à remplir d’où cette production prolifique qui remplit ses ateliers successifs, jamais assez grands.
Le thème du voyage prédomine dans sa production : voyage géographique, voyage imaginaire et surtout voyage intérieur ? Voyage, ici, synonyme d’évasion.

A worrying strangeness
Franck Saïssi’s work is in the great tradition of painters and it would be easy, even simplistic, to associate it with this tradition.An intranquilist artist, Franck Saïssi passionately loves painting, which helps him to structure his life, to put it in order, to conjure up the anxieties and doubts which regularly assail him and which are found in the themes he explores.
Painting gives meaning to his life, it is a vital need that he practises daily and which comes to fill a kind of inner emptiness. A bottomless well that a whole life will certainly never be able to fill, which explains the prolific production that fills his successive workshops, never big enough.
The theme of travel predominates in his production: geographical journey, imaginary journey and above all inner journey? Travel, here, synonymous with escape.
